Jeff J.-Plympton, MA 5:30pm EDT 27JUN2011:
My wife and I were sitting in the yard at our home in Plympton, MA when I saw a object in the sky burn bright blue to white and left a white trail of smoke.
The object appeared in the sky moving in a north-westerly direction. I went to point out the smoke trail to my wife and two maybe three minutes later or perhaps longer we heard a muffled boom unfamiliar to this area. I thought perhaps it was a meteor but have not seen them in the sky during the day. Earlier today, I commented on the Dudley MA. sighting but was unable to email from work.
Regards.
I wish I had a photo of the smoke trail but it was very distant and disappeared from sight quickly.     thanks Jeff!  Wow...a rare daylight sighting indeed!

I saw same from my home in Plympton MA at aprox. 5:30PM. Bright blue than white. A trail of smoke in sky could be seen for a couple of minutes after. I was sitting in my yard with my wife. As I was pointing out the area in the sky where I saw the object a muffled boom was heard, a sound unfamiliar in this area.

Addendum to Plympon MA post-the object was moving NorthWest in the sky.

I am from Cleveland, OH. At about 1am i was driving home and noticed a bright red ball in the sky I was facing north. I thought maybe Mars was close or something but I noticed that it was moving slowly. I continued to watch it and it just disappeared. Tonite,at about 110pm I was skywatching and seen a white ball in the sky and I was facing the west and that also was moving but then disappeared.
