The desert skies of El Paso, Texas in the Southwestern U.S. offered some of the best views of this year's Geminid Meteor Shower. Upwards of 120 meteors per hour occured at shower peak although most city dwellers didn't see that many. Best viewing was outside the skyglow of city lights. This is a composite image of meteors greater than magnitude -2 captured by the El Paso Allsky Camera since the night of Dec. 6-7, 2010. These are good Geminid candidates and was a great start to the annual shower which peaked the night of Dec. 13-14. More updates to come so bookmark this site and keep watching!
