Green Possibly Large Fireball Event Seen From Many East Central-Northeast US Coast Witnesses 29MAY2011

Katie U.-VA:
My husband and I were driving in 2 separate vehicles on the night (11:00 pm) of Sunday May 29, 2011 on Rt. 288 northbound in Midlothian Virginia and independently saw a neon green fireball with a red/orange tail in the sky traveling from the southwest to the northwest. When we got home we both asked the other about it. I just googled that information and saw your web page for that night and I'm amazed!

sky not dark, lime -greenish bright light with trail, no sound, we were facing south, object moved from left to right lasting 10 seconds approximately. Seen by two of us.
John L.-West Virginia:
Around 11:00PM EDT on Sunday night 29 May we saw a large meteor, travelling roughly South to North. First appeared perhaps 20 deg East of zenith, rapidly became brighter, head appeared in two parts and brilliant blue-white with hint of green, tail appeared reddish. It disappeared over mountain to out North. It was bright enough to illuminate the ground
We are near Marlinton, WV, USA. We saw in the hours before and after this event several small unremarkable meteors travelling on the same apparent heading. Where can I find out more about this event? Did any of it reach the ground? haven't heard of any rocks on the ground yet. thank you!
David H.-Brinklow Maryland:
last night while checking out the Amazing fireflies, we saw a HUGE green fireball in the Western sky. It looked like a large firework moving from the upper southern sky heading to the lower northern sky (left to right). It was around 10:30 pm. A very brilliant sight! We didn't notice any noises associated with it though.
R.M. & Associates-North Carolina:
Me and my wife also saw this odd color falling star, meteor or
whatever you call it. We were headed south on HWY 54 in North
Carolina around Saxapahaw NC and was able to view this for about 7
seconds or longer.
Never has a falling star or shooting star taken this long to go out of
eye sight.
Dylan V.-Maine:
I was sitting outside Empire Dine and Dance last night at approx. 9:30 when I saw a fireball in the sky. it looked as if it were becoming present at a normal flight hight of the planes that leave the airport in south portland and fly over. Two of us saw it and noted it's trajectory. it did not make it to the other side of the building, probably burned out. it was a bright white/orange/almost electric color. it came in heading in a north-westerly direction.
Patrick S.-Oak Grove Theater, Verona, VA:
We were in the middle of a performance when it happened. We actors heard the crowd murmuring and talking as it happened and after the show most of the audience reported a bright and spectacular meteor(?) arcing from audience right to audience left in the sky above the set on stage. It is an outdoor stage and to be seen above the set would put it in an east to west direction at least midway up from the horizon in the northern part of the sky. They were taping the performance last night so it might be possible it was caught on video. We guessed the time to around 9:50 to 10:20 EST but don't know for certain because we were mid scene when it happened. PLEASE forward any video to wxtx01@gmail.com Thank You!
Cathy R.-Danvers MA:
May 29, 2011, around 9 PM, 5 people saw orange balls. first one, then two closer together, then 4-5 more moving from southeast, about 20 degrees above horizon, in an arc toward the north to about 35 degrees above the horizon before they disappeared behind the treeling about 30 feet from the east-facing porch we were seated on...they were larger than the largest I've seen Venus when it is low on the horizon and as bright...they moved silently and at a smooth steady and regular pace...not like anything I've ever seen before...what were they? fragmenting meteor/fireball called a "bolide". Thank you!
David L.-Duxbury, MA:
Last night may 29th about 8:30pm we were outside on our farm which is in Duxbury MA.
We are on the bay and have an unobstructed view of the ocean.
We saw an object that looked like a meteor going north from the south; we were looking due east. The color of the trail was dark aqua color; it lasted approximately 4 seconds. The flight pattern was nearly parallel with the ground and the horizon. At the end of the trail the color turned from green to bright red and disappeared. We live in a rural area with expansive views.
