On the heels of a large fireball seen Dec. 28th at ~6:45pm EST over several NE USA coastline states, a pair of bright fireballs and a possible third has apparently occured in the same region...and just one night later. The following are posts to ELPALLSKY Dec. 29th, 2010.

I'm glad to know I wasn't seeing things! I too saw the 12/29 fireball around 8:40-8:45pm - looking west. I am in eastern PA, near Allentown. I was driving home through town, stopped at a stop sign, and when I looked to my left (west) to check for oncoming traffic, I saw the bright yellow-white fireball with a very short blue-green tail fall, as if headed straight down to the horizon. I only caught a second of it before my view was obstructed by buildings - but, wow! What a glorious second it was!
From E-mail:
My daughter and I just saw a large meteor travel 160degrees from Orion terminating 20 degrees above horizon at Cygnus.
Time was 18:30 location 39deg56'N, 76deg58'W, elev 429ft.

I live on the eastern shore of Maryland. As I stepped outside to let my dogs out I saw a bright white light in the North/West sky and it appeared to shoot straight down to the horizon.

Posted this on another site too, but everyone here seems to think I'm crazy! No one else seems to have seen this thing! No, you're not crazy! I saw this tonight in southeastern PA around the same time, 8:30-ish PM. I happened to glance up to the NNW, and saw a bright white ball with a short tail dropping out of the sky. Lasted 4 or 5 seconds before I lost sight of it behind a hill.
