Wow!, the most awesome meteor I've seen! Long-lasting, low on the horizon, a brilliant flash, and a neon-green trail!   Initial Report! Thank you Daniel!

Additional Reports via Email:
Toni C.-Timberon, NM:
Saw a large fireball falling to the south of me at 11:05 MDT.  It appeared
to be near El Paso. Looked red & yellow, like real fire, to me, but I was in such disbelief, it’s hard to tell if I remembered correctly! My initial reaction was that a plane exploded, since it appeared to be ‘heading’ toward ELP. Scared the wits out of me! Confirmation report! Thanks Toni!

This fireball likely terminated over Northern Mexico. Trajectory analysis and potential fall zone should be completed soon and will be posted to this site as soon as available. Other area cams likely captured this event and will be evaluated, so please bookmark for updates and future reference.Initial uncalibrated rough coord's from ELPALLSKY are as follow;
Beginning Azimuth: 157

Ending Azimuth: 164

11/5/11 - Approximately 5:20 am facing south, a bright light lit the sky then a long bright streak with a ball the size of a 1/4 moon leading, then bursting and disappearing, then leaving what appeared to be a straight contrail then dissipating into a zig-zag pattern, then disappearing, all within a matter of 30 seconds. The streak was traveling from east to west. From Clarence Center it would be going towards Amherst, Buffalo, Lake Erie, and Canada.

4 people in two separate cars witnessed a green fireball in the Valley of the Fires near Carrizozo, NM on the night of Nov 5th 2010. It was neon green, appeared suddenly like a flash, then quickly dissapated downward, like a rounded apostrophe. We were driving eastward about 7 miles down into Carrizozo, and the two cars met at the Allsups there, but did not report elswhere. Glad to find this site!
