Oregon Idaho Meteor Fireball Reported To ELPALLSKY 05AUG2011

Hello...
I came across the Elp Allsky web site via a Google search for “I saw a comet tonight at 9:50 pm pst”, and that is where I came across the link to send you this email. I hope the information below is of some use.
On the evening of Friday August 5, 2011 approximately 9:50 pm PST from Medford, Oregon I witnessed a VERY bright fire ball in the eastern sky at approximately 2 o’clock sky position vertically (where due east along the horizon would be 3:00 and 12:00 would be straight above my head). The sky was very clear this evening, with the moon brightly behind me in the southwesterly sky. The fire ball was much larger and brighter then the average “falling star” and it traveled in a downward projection from south (right) to north (left) as I was facing due east in by back yard. It was surprisingly long in duration (at least it seemed that way). It caught my attention by its brightness, then I was actually able to follow it for a few split moments in amazement at what I was seeing, then it faded out from its blue-ish and white trail. It seemed so large and unusual that I was expecting to hear a a boom or pop or something, but I noticed no sounds.

On the evening of 8/5/2011 we were camping in the mountains of North Idaho. I was sitting facing due South. The moon had already set behind the mountains to the South West. We had observed several "shooting stars", one of which at approximately 9:50 pm PST, moved from the South to the North in the Western sky from my location. It was particularly large and lasted a few seconds, with a very long streaking tail, bluish, white in color. Approximately one hour later, I saw to the South East, four bright white flashes, three quarters the size of the moon, the first being very bright and  looking and lasting like a camera flash then the three proceeding followed a few seconds apart and were less bright each flash.  I have no idea what that was and have never witnessed anything like that before.

I went searching for something about a meteorite sighting in Southern Oregon and came across the posting by Rodney G of Medford Oregon.  My husband and I were sitting in our hot tub in our back yard in East Medford, Oregon on August 5th just before 10 pm.
I was facing west towards our house. My husband was facing east towards the eastern sky.  He yelled out suddenly, "Look at that!" and by the time I turned I missed it.  He said he never seen anything like it before.  He said it was coming from the south to the north in the eastern horizon.  I get all excited about the looking at the night sky and he is not that into it.  But this time he saw something and I didn't.  He was very excited to tell me that it was rather large and blue maybe green.  It travelled and then burned out.  He has seen shooting stars but this was lower in the sky and much larger.  My husband read Rodney G's report and said that Rodney pretty much described what he had seen as well and the same location and the same time.  He was glad to know someone else saw what he saw.
I wish I had.
