Breaking Meteor News...Large, Bright, Green Fireball Over New Mexico, Arizona 08JAN2011 Captured By ELPALLSKY...

ELPALLSKY has captured the fireball... Initial movie and composite
image below. Thank you Chris in El Paso!
The Fireball appears in the upper left and lasted roughly 5 seconds. Preliminary view shows the meteor WNW of El Paso, TX. More to come.

Chris (guest): I just saw a what seemed to be a fire ball falling from the sky in El Paso,TX at about 10:30pm it was green
Jan 9 2011, 1:12 AM Bev (guest): I saw the fireball from Ahwatukee, AZ at about 10:30pm, 1-8-2011. I saw it east of my location and it traveled straight down for about 3 seconds. Big, bright, white-greenish and awesome! I didn't notice any frags or flashes.
It became visible to me from the bottom of my patio arch at about 30 degrees.

Bev (guest): It was at about 5 degrees when it disappeared behind neighbor's back wall. Still glowing strong at that point.
Jan 9 2011, 3:15 PM Guest830 (guest): I saw the Jan 8 2011 meteor. Gilbert AZ, approx. 1040 pm. Seemed to start at about 60 degrees to the horizon and then disappeared just above or behind the Superstition Mountains to the east of town.
Jan 9 2011, 8:14 PM Guest248 (guest): I also witnessed the fireball on 1/8/2011 at about 10:30pm. I was driving west on the freeway and it appeared to the northwest. Very bright, lasted about 4 seconds and disappeared very very close to the ground it looked like.
Forgot to mention I was driving from Phoenix to Scottsdale.

BTW- I was in Scottsdale, AZ

Jan 10 2011, 2:59 PM Guest52 (guest): My husband & I saw this from Sedona AZ on 1/8/2011 at appx 5:30pm -- it was very bright with a long tail -- we are at a higher elevation (appx 4500 -- 5000 elevation) once it went past Mingus Mountain we could no longer see it.
