In the early evening of november 30th, I saw a long, white streak with blue tinges on the edges, about 1/4 of the sky long. The head looked like magnesium burning, blueish green light, as large as the moon in 1/2 wax. northern california near willow creek.

At 9:18pm on oct 20 2011 I saw a large round ball with a white tail fall from the sky.  The tail stayed bright for about 30 seconds after the ball disappeared.  It was to large for a falling star but reminded me of that.     thank you Dianna!

I saw this fireball. I was in the Grand Canyon, camped at mile 131 below Lee’s Ferry. I was facing upstream. The fireball passed almost directly over my head, heading also upstream. Sorry I can’t tell you N for sure as being in the Canyon is slightly disorienting, but I think that means it traveled from NE to SW.     thank you Professor!

Last night - May 3 around 11 PM - I went out on my west facing porch here at S. Steele Street and Louisiana in Denver, and was stunned to see what looked like a firework exploding to the west, northwest, over the city of Denver. Very bright chunks of light, lasting very briefly, and then disappearing. I thought it was fireworks at first, but it clearly was something else. So I got on line first thing this morning, and saw your website.

Hi, I just came across your website when searching online for something similar to what I saw in the sky tonight (may 3rd tues). I live just north of downtown denver, and went out in the backyard to hang up laundry when I saw it just past the rooftops- it was really close- about the size of your hand when you hold it up compared to the stars. it was greenish blue like a really hot flame with white/yellowish around it and a tail. I think I was facing west or slightly southwest and it went from left to right very low in the sky.  It looked like it landed maybe 20 blocks away or something. I thought someone was shooting off a firework at first, but it was so huge and rectangular in shape, not round. Have you heard from anyone else about this? Is it a fireball or something else? I went online this morning to research the fireball meteorite and found your inquiry asking for more information. I live in San Anselmo, CA just north of San Francisco. At approximately 10pm I witnessed a huge fireball meteorite/asteroid rip across the sky in a firery orange display. I also noticed soft billowy tree or feather-like formations that were not clouds but rather had more of an etheric quality. After some online research, I discovered that we had a geomagnetic storm last night.

Bright Northern CO Meteor Fireball 31MAR2011

E-mail From Michael Kornblatt: I was in Littleton, CO approx 6:05 am, Wadsworth Ave and US 285 (Hampden), facing North, Northeast and saw a very large, very bright mass of light headed almost straight down.  I saw it for 2 seconds, then it disappeared behind the morning cloud cover. The size and brightness were amazing! I wish I could have watched it longer!

From Daniel S. Near Boulder...Looks like the same event the others are reporting, though I would put the time a little later. Approx. 6 20 am. I was driving north on highway 93 towards Boulder, approx. near highway 128 junction. Meteor was seen to the north east at approx 30 degrees east. Elevation approx 35 degrees above horizion. It was VERY bright and maybe the apparent size of 0.5 inches or my fingernail. It was bright and appeared burning. I actually looked up looking for a plane or something to see if it had fallen off something. Daniel

Steve S. In Ft. Collins Writes...Saw it too, but my time was ~6:20 am, 3/31/2011.  Driving north on Taft Ave in Fort Collins, CO.  Very large (nickel-to quarter-sized) white light body falling almost vertical and rapidly, also north-northeast, roughly in direction of Cheyenne WY.  My view of horizon was obstructed so I couldn't see whether it disappeared behind or in front of clouds, but if behind it was a very long way off, because clouds appeared to be at least 40-50 miles away. Was expecting to see reports on news but nothing so far.  Steve S.

Kathleen B. In Berthoud...I was driving north on Hwy 287 west of Berthoud (between Longmont and Loveland) when at about 6:15 am I saw the brilliant fireball falling in the sky in the north/northeast. It disappeared behind a dark cloud bank across the northern horizon.  I was amazed and somewhat startled. I just had to report it to someone so I actually called the Loveland police dept. thinking that if it hit the ground, it would be a blazing fire perhaps on the eastern plains. I checked the news several times but found nothing mentioned so I finally reported the incident to 9 News. But still nothing has been said. I finally did a google search for “meteor northern Colorado” and found your write up this afternoon.  Wow, that was really spectacular!!! Kathleen
