Jeff J.-Plympton, MA 5:30pm EDT 27JUN2011:My wife and I were sitting in the yard at our home in Plympton, MA when I saw a object in the sky burn bright blue to white and left a white trail of smoke.
The object appeared in the sky moving in a north-westerly direction. I went to point out the smoke trail to my wife and two maybe three minutes later or perhaps longer we heard a muffled boom unfamiliar to this area. I thought perhaps it was a meteor but have not seen them in the sky during the day. Earlier today, I commented on the Dudley MA. sighting but was unable to email from work.
Regards.
I wish I had a photo of the smoke trail but it was very distant and disappeared from sight quickly. thanks Jeff! Wow...a rare daylight sighting indeed!
