Guest958 (guest): Jan 6th, 2011 about 7:20 pm, Lake Elsinore , Ca. We saw a really bright streak falling through the night sky. This went on for several minutes, then it broke into 3 that burned in place till they one by one burned out. We're guessing it was the Quadrantid meteors? Brightest thing we've ever seen!

It was about 40 deg up from the western horizon and broke up into 3 pieces at about 20 degrees up from the western horizon. It was slow moving, taking about 5 minutes to traverse the two points mentioned. The slow speed might indicate that it was a satellite falling out of orbit.
